I had the privilege with those two amazing dancers - Emily Ripley and Robyn Bedford, both, who were recently graduated from York University in their dance studies. I have learned a lot from those two beautiful duo who challenge me to find a new way of looking to capture the nuance of modern/contemporary dance form. The hard part is how do you make the dance shot looks amazing without having a dancer resort to using powerful dynamic dance movement in every single shot through the whole session and keep the dance shots look consistent as if they belong in the same set when it comes to photographing understated, subtle dance form. Lucky for me, I had a background in practicing performance Kung Fu and it comes in handy to have the knowledge and insight to be able to pre-visualize into looking at the form in different perspective.
